( random interesting Metropolis )And now, a word from the kittenses. Yay! ( les lettres des chats )Meanwhile, out in the larger world... Poem du jour = Easter Morning. Class warfare, Christ, and potatoes. Bien interessant. On the local history front, Eyewitness: 1858. My goodness, nothing new under the sun, is there? Fascinating, if a bit lurid-handwringing...there's historical fiction in here, somewhere, for somebody inclined to it... Today's project = le chambre de lit. There's quite a bit must go from here to there, and it will bring me great peace to do it. Ergo, am off to brew more coffee and get back to work. Don't worry - have planned a fun reward for tonight, too. Thank you, dears, for listening, and for loving me. It helps. That is energetically all. Current Mood: busy Current Music: "To stand within the pleasure dome, decreed by Kubla Khan..."

Yesterday I called the boy and said, "Come and get me! I'm done with work and I have dinner!" He replied, "OK, I think there's something in our wall. I can hear it scratching." So we came home and stood in the back room, listening to the scratching. At first, we were pretty convinced it was a squirrel. We had an elaborate barrier of laundry baskets and a bucket with a lid. The boy's plan was to throw a blanket over it somehow, and get it into the bucket with the lid. Oh yeah, that sounds brilliant, huh? Then he lifted the edge of the plumbing panel and saw a beak. Woohoo, it's a bird! So much easier. I slid the window screen open and he yanked the plumbing panel out, and this starling shot straight across the room and out the window like he knew where he was going. Jesus, I know there are nests up in the vents at the top of the building, but we've never had a bird fall into one before. I emailed the apartment complex manager... I hope she doesn't get sick of me. It's not my fault! Heh heh. Tags: e/n, nature Current Location: study hole Current Mood: heroic Current Music: some POS car with a bad belt

( random happy Metropolis )Under the heading of "Friday fun," stumbled across Fanboy Supercuts, and zomfg, is this ever not work safe. It's riddikalus video montages of things. See below for sample: ( every F-bomb in The Big Lebowski )Want to watch the Glengarry Glen Ross one, but am afraid it will slay me. "Always be closing" was one of the more amusing stock phrases in your heroine's tenure in corporate Ammurika. Hee... *fuzzles with delicious delight* Poem = Homeplace, Jo McDougall. Encouraging news from California. Look, people: marriage is hard. It just is. And love, even genuine, sincere love, with the best of intentions, is often not enough to navigate it. Trust me on this one. So, please, gubmint: just step the fuck off and let people do what they feel they must. Because you will never be able to legislate love's path. Just let it go. Please. For all of our sakes. *soapbox stepdown* It's so wonderful to dance with you, my dears. Just thought would mention it. And now, to work. Or, play, rather. That is happily all. Current Mood: happy Current Music: "That's what you get when you go chasing after angels."
